नमस्कार दोस्तों आज की यात्रा पर मैं आपको लेकर चल रहा हूं एक ऐसी अतिप्राचीन मंदिर की यात्रा पर जो विशालकाय वराह की प्रतिमा के लिए विश्व प्रसिद्ध हैं । दोस्तों भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित यह अद्भुत और अलौकिक प्राचीनतम मंदिर अपने विशिष्ट वास्तुशिल्प के कारण भी जाना जाता है।
दोस्तों मध्य प्रदेश के सागर जिले में मौजूद हैं एरन । दोस्तों आज वर्तमान समय में यहा का रास्ता ज्यादातर लोगों को पता नहीं है पर दोस्तों प्राचीन भारत का प्रत्येक प्रमुख रास्त यहीं से होकर गुजरता दोस्तों हम जैसे धर्म का इतिहास जानने में दिलचस्पी रखने वालों के लिए यह एक खास बात है कि एरन में भगवान विष्णु को दो अवतारों - भगवान नरसिम्हा और पशु अवतार वाराह की मंदिर और विशालकाय मूर्तियां मौजूद है।

दोस्तों इसकी ऐतिहासिकता को देखने पर पता चलता है कि गुप्त कालीन मूर्ति कला में वाराह की यह प्राचीन मूर्ति विशेष स्थान रखती है।
दोस्तों आप देखोगे कि वाराह की प्रतिमा के मुख में जिव्हा के उपर देवी मां सरस्वती विराजमान हैं और वहीं स्त्री रूप में देवी पृथ्वी वाराह की दाईं दाढ़ पकड़े हुए हैं। जो अद्भुत है और महाप्रलय उस कहानी की याद दिलाती है जिसमें भगवान विष्णु द्वारा वाराह अवतार धारण कर अंतरिक्ष में मौजूद अथाह समुद्र से पृथ्वी को बाहर निकाल कर उसका पुनः उद्धार किया था।
दोस्तों आपको पता है इस अलौकिक प्राचीनतम दंतकथा के अंतर्गत भारतीय मूर्तिकला में अक्सर दो प्रकार की मूर्तियां बनती हैं। पहली प्रकार हैं नृवाराह की मूर्ति जिसमें उनके दांतों पर गोल पृथ्वी धारित है।
और दूसरी प्रकार में पशु वाराह की यह प्रतिमा जिसमें स्त्री रूप धारण किए हुए भू-देवी वाराह की दाढ़ पकड़े हुए हैं। साथ ही दोस्तों इस प्राचीन वाराह मूर्ति में बाएं तरफ एक विशाल नाग को उपर की तरफ उत्कीर्ण किया गया है और दोस्तों इस प्राचीन वाराह मूर्ति के पुरे शरीर पर कमंडल धारी ऋषि और देवताओं को प्रभावशाली रूप से उत्कीर्ण किया गया है।

दोस्तों वाराह देवता की यह महाकाय प्रतिमा भारतीय इतिहास में हूणों के काल का प्रतिनिधित्व करतीं हैं।
दोस्तों माना जाता है कि गुप्त वंश के कमजोर पड़ते ही हूणों ने मालवा क्षेत्र पर अपना अधिकार कर लिया था। और उनका नेता 'तोरमण' इस क्षेत्र का राजा बन गया था।
दोस्तों आप देखेंगे कि महाराज 'तोरमण' के राजत्वकाल का सूचनात्मक लेख इस प्राचीन वाराह की प्रतिमा अंकित है। दोस्तों इस लेख को सर्व प्रथम सन् 1838 में कैप्टन टीएस . बर्ट ने खोजा और पढ़ा था।
दोस्तों इस लेख को महाराज तोरमण के अधीनस्थ शासक धन्यविष्णु ने उत्कीर्ण करवाया था। दोस्तों इस प्राचीन और ऐतिहासिक लेख में महाराज तोरमण के प्रथम राजयवर्ष का मात्र उल्लेख किया गया है। दोस्तों इसके अलावा हूणं वंश के बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं दी गई है।
दोस्तों पुरा का पुरा लेख अधीनस्थ शासक धन्यविष्णु और उनके पूर्वजों का ही उल्लेख करता है दोस्तों इनमें धन्यविष्णु के पूर्वज मातृ विष्णु , इंद्र विष्णु , वरुण विष्णु , व हरिविष्णु की विशेषताओं को इंगित किया गया है। साथ ही दोस्तों अभिलेख में धन्यविष्णु द्वारा एरण में वाराह मंदिर बनाए जाने का भी उल्लेख किया गया है । दोस्तों मंदिर के बनाए जाने के तिथि के रूप में केवल फाल्गुन मास का 10 वा दिन ही अंकित है। वर्ष का उल्लेख नहीं किया गया है। दोस्तों अनुमानित है कि इस प्राचीन वाराह मंदिर का निर्माण 485 ईस्वी से 500 ईस्वी के मध्य हुआ होगा।
