दोस्तों आप सभी को जानकर हर्ष होगा कि विश्व विख्यात प्राचीन नगरी राजगीर में मौजूद मौर्यकालीन साइक्लोपीयन दीवार को वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज में शामिल किया जा रहा है।
दोस्तों बिहार सरकार ने भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण विभाग को राजगीर में मौजूद 2500 वर्ष से भी अधिक पुरानी साइक्लोपियन दीवार को यूनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर स्थल में सूचीबद्ध करने के लिए एक नया प्रस्ताव भेजा है जिसे लगभग स्वीकार कर लिया गया है।
दोस्तों बिहार राज्य स्थित राजगीर की साइक्लोपियन दीवार पत्थरों की बनी 40 किलोमीटर लंबी दीवार है जिसे तीसरी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व बनाया गया था।
इस प्राचीन दीवार को विश्व विरासत में शामिल करने का अथक प्रयास हो रहा है।
दोस्तों पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण विभाग के निदेशक दीपक आनंद ने बताया कि वे यूनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर स्थल में साइक्लोपियन दीवार को सूचीबद्ध करवाने का कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ेंगे। दोस्तों उन्होंने साइक्लोपियन दीवार के ऐतिहासिक महत्व और विशेषताओं पर प्रकाश डालते हुए एक नया प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत किया है।
दोस्तों पुरातत्व शास्त्रियों ने बताया कि यह प्राचीन दीवार पुरे विश्व में साईक्लोपियन चिनाई के सबसे पुराने उदहारणो में से एक है अतः इस प्राचीन दीवार को विश्व विरासत स्थल में जरूर शामिल किया जाना चाहिए।
यह प्राचीन दीवार मौर्य साम्राज्य द्वारा बनाया गया था।
दोस्तों यह प्राचीन दीवार मौर्य साम्राज्य की विरासत है जिसे उस वंश के महान शासकों ने अपनी राजधानी की सुरक्षा के लिए बनवाया था। दोस्तों आपको जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि मगध साम्राज्य का उस काल में एक अलग ही वर्चस्व था दोस्तों आज का राजगीर उस समय राजगृह के नाम से जाना जाता था। जो बहुत ही समृद्ध और खुशहाल हुआ करता था। दोस्तों जिस कारण यहां हमेशा आक्रमण का खतरा बना रहता था।
दोस्तों जिस समय इस प्राचीन दीवार का निर्माण किया गया था उस समय इस क्षेत्र में यानी आज के राजगीर में महाराज बिम्बिसार और उनके पुत्र अजातशत्रु का शासन हुआ करता था।
अद्भुत रूप से 40 किलोमीटर लंबी थी यह प्राचीन दीवार।
दोस्तों अध्ययन करने से पता चलता है कि इस प्राचीन दीवार में जो पत्थर लगाईं गई है वो चुना पत्थर है जो उस समय की बेहतरीन वास्तुशिल्प की दास्तां बयां करती हैं हालांकि दोस्तों अब इस प्राचीन दीवार के अवशेष ही रह गए हैं।
लेकिन दोस्तों अब भी इसे उस काल का बेहतरीन आकृति माना जाता है। दोस्तों यह प्राचीन दीवार उस दौर का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है जब वर्तमान समय की तरह सीमेंट आदि नहीं होता था और बड़े पैमाने पर चूना पत्थर का उपयोग प्रमुख रूप से होता था।
दोस्तों उस जमाने में दीवार बनाने में आज के मुकाबले काफी समय लगता था। फिर भी दोस्तों इस प्राचीन दीवार को 4 मीटर ऊंची और 40 किलोमीटर लंबी बनाईं गई थी।
