नमस्कार दोस्तों माउंटेन लैपर्ड महेंद्रा के यात्रा ब्लॉग में आप सभी लोगों का हार्दिक अभिनंदन है। दोस्तों मैं आज आप सभी लोगों को लेकर चल रहा हूं भारतवर्ष के एक बहुत ही खूबसूरत राज्य जो अपने प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य के कारण विश्व प्रसिद्ध है। दोस्तों यही नागालैंड के दीमापुर में मौजूद है अलौकिक और रहस्यमई विशालकाय शतरंज के मोहरे जिनका हम अवलोकन करेंगे।

दोस्तों माना जाता है कि इन विशालकाय शतरंज की मोहरों का सम्बंध महाभारत काल से है जिनका उपयोग महाबली भीम अपने बेटे घटोत्कच के साथ शतरंज खेलने में किया करते थे।
दोस्तों भारतवर्ष के पूर्वोत्तर में स्थित एक खुबसुरत पहाड़ी राज्य नागालैण्ड का एक शहर दीमापुर जिसको प्राचीन समय में हिडिंबा पुर के नाम से जाना जाता था और यह स्थान उस जमाने में खतरनाक घने जंगलों से घिरा हुआ था। और इन्हीं घने जंगलों में राक्षस राज हिडिंब और उसकी बहन हिडिंबा रहा करतीं थीं।
दोस्तों उसी समय काल में राक्षसी हिडिंबा ने महाबली भीम से प्रेम विवाह किया था। दोस्तों पांडवों की कुल वधु भीम की पत्नी इस क्षेत्र की राजकुमारी थी।
दोस्तों इस प्राचीन दीमापुर शहर का एक और अर्थ निकाला जाता है दोस्तों यह तीन शब्दों से मिलकर बना है। ये तीन शब्द है । दी - मा - पुर । दोस्तों कचारी भाषा में इन तीनों शब्दों का अलग अलग अर्थ होता है जैसे "दी " का अर्थ होता है "नदी" "मां" का अर्थ महान होता है , और "पुर" का अर्थ होता है "शहर"
दोस्तों दीमापुर में कचारी शासन काल में बने मंदिर, तालाब और प्राचीन किलों को देखा जा सकता है। दोस्तों इनमें राजपुखरी , पदमपुखरी ,बामुन पुखरी और जोरपुखरी आदि प्रमुख हैं।
आपको जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि यहां बहुतायत में रहने वाली डिमाशा जनजाति स्वयं को राजकुमारी हिडिंबा का वंशज मानती हैं और अनकी पूजा करतीं हैं । दोस्तों इस जनजाति के लोगों से बात करने पर इस बात की प्रमाणिकता मिलती हैं कि इन विशालकाय शतरंज की मोहरों से महाभारत काल में भीम अपने विशालकाय शरीर वाले बेटे घटोत्कच के साथ शतरंज खेला करते थे।
दोस्तों यहां आज भी राजकुमारी हिडिंबा की रहने का स्थान मौजूद हैं जिसे स्थानीय लोग बाड़ा कहते हैं दोस्तों यही पर राजवाड़ी में स्थित है शतरंज की ऊंची ऊंची गोटियां जो कि पत्थरों से निर्मित है। दोस्तों शतरंज की इन्हीं विशालकाय गोटियों को देखकर पर्यटक आश्चर्यचकित हो जातें हैं।
हालांकि दोस्तों इन विशालकाय मोहरों में से कुछ समय के साथ खंडित हो गए हैं लेकिन कुछ आज भी पूरी तरह से सुरक्षित है बीते हुए इतिहास के पन्नों को लोगों के सामने लाने के लिए ।दोस्तों यहां मौजूद शतरंज एक एक गोटी 50-50 टन का है दोस्तों इन मोहरों का आकार और वजन इतना ज्यादा है कि एक साधारण मनुष्य हिला पाना संभव नहीं है।
दोस्तों इन विशालकाय प्राचीन शतरंज की मोहरों को देखने विश्व के कोने कोने से पर्यटक आते है। एवं पुरातत्व विभाग वाले यहां शोध कार्य करते रहते हैं।
दोस्तों पौराणिक ग्रंथ महाभारत के अनुसार पांडवों ने दीमापुर के घने जंगलों में अपने अज्ञातवास के दौरान कई वर्षों तक
गुजारें थे। दोस्तों इन्हीं जंगलों में राक्षस राज हिडिंब अपनी बहन हिडिंबा के साथ रहता था।
दोस्तों जब राक्षस राज हिडिंब को यह पता चला कि पांडव उसके क्षेत्र में आये हुए हैं तब उसने अपनी बहन को सभी पांडवों को मारकर लाने के लिए भेजा। दोस्तों जब हिडिंबा पांडवों को मारने पहुंची तो उसने वहां देखा कि बलशाली भीम अपने सोये हुए भाइयों और माता की रक्षा कर रहे थे। दोस्तों माना जाता है कि हिडिंबा भीम के सौंदर्य को देखकर उसपर मोहित हो गई और पांडवों को बिना मारें वापस लौट गईं। दोस्तों राक्षस राज को इस बात का पता चला तो वह क्रोधित होकर खुद ही पांडवों मारने पहुंच गया और अंततः भीषण युद्ध में बलशाली भीम के हाथों मारा गया।
दोस्तों जब पांडव वन से जाने लगे राक्षसी राजकुमारी हिडिंबा ने माता कुंती से कहा कि वो मन ही मन भीम को अपना पति मान चुकी है और भीम के बिना वह प्राण त्याग देंगी। अतः हिडिंबा के प्रेम को देखकर भीम ने हिडिंबा से विवाह कर लिया। दोस्तों आगे चलकर भीम और हिडिंबा को महाबलशाली घटोत्कच नामक पुत्र रत्न की प्राप्ति हुई थी।
दोस्तों यहां पर पाई गई इन विशालकाय शतरंज की मोहरों से बलशाली भीम ही अपने पुत्र घटोत्कच के साथ शतरंज खेला करते थे।
