नमस्कार दोस्तों महाराष्ट्र के कोल्हापुर के निकट खिद्रपुर में मौजूद है अति प्राचीन कोपेश्वर महादेव मंदिर जो चालुक्य वास्तुकला का अनमोल धरोहर है। दोस्तों यह प्राचीन मंदिर अद्भुत शिल्प कला के अनुपम सौंदर्य को धारण किए हुए हैं। दोस्तों जहां अलौकिक रूप से भगवान विष्णु भगवान शिव के साथ लिंग के रूप में विद्यमान हैं।
दोस्तों प्राचीन कोपेश्वर महादेव मंदिर महाराष्ट्र के कोल्हापुर शहर से 80 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है।
दोस्तों ऐतिहासिक स्रोतों से पता चलता है कि इस अद्भुत और अनोखे शिल्प कला का विकास सातवीं शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व में चालुक्य राजवंश के शासनकाल में हुआ था। जो कई राजवंशों के शासनकाल के दौरान विकसित हुई थी। दोस्तों माना जाता है कि महाराष्ट्र के खिद्रपुर क्षेत्र पर सातवाहन राजवंश ,चालुक्यो, राष्ट्रकूट , शीलहरा ,यादव एवं आदिलशाही राजवंशों से होते हुए भोंसले राजवंशों के आधिपत्य रहा था।
दोस्तों इस मंदिर से संबंधित एक बहुत ही मशहूर पौराणिक कथा प्रसिद्ध है।साथ ही दोस्तों आश्चर्य करने वाली बात यह है कि इस मंदिर के द्वार पर बाबा नंदी मौजूद नहीं है जिसके कारण यहां आने वाले श्रद्धालु आश्चर्यचकित हुए बिना नहीं रह पाते हैं। क्योंकि दोस्तों बाबा नंदी की गैरमौजूदगी कई प्राचीन रहस्य को उजागर करती है।
दोस्तों प्रसिद्ध पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार माना जाता है कि महाराज प्रजापति दक्ष के यज्ञ समारोह में भगवान भोलेनाथ को आमंत्रित ना करने के कारण प्रजापति दक्ष कन्या माता सती ने यज्ञ कुंड के अग्नि में कूदकर अपनी जान दे दी थी।जिस कारण से भगवान शिव ने क्रोध में आकर महाराज प्रजापति दक्ष का सिर काट दिया था। और माता सती के शव को अपने गोद में लेकर तांडव करने लगे थे। जिससे पूरे ब्रह्मांड में हाहाकार मच गया था ।तब भगवान विष्णु ने भगवान शिव का क्रोध शांत किया था। और उसी समय इस प्राचीन मंदिर में भगवान शिव के साथ लिंग के रूप में विद्यमान हुए थे।
दोस्तों पुराणों में कई जगह वर्णित है कि जब जब भोलेनाथ क्रोधित हुए तब तब भगवान विष्णु ने उनके क्रोध को शांत किया था। दोस्तों यह प्राचीन मंदिर भोलेनाथ के अति क्रोधित होने वाले क्षण का प्रतीक माना जाता है। दोस्तों मानो ऐसा लगता है कि इस मंदिर में वह समय चक्र सदैव के लिए काल के पहिए के रूप में थम गया हो। माता सती का अपने प्राणों से प्रिय प्राणेश्वर भगवान शिव का अपमान , माता सती का अपने आप को बलिदान करना व भगवान शिव का क्रोधित होना , भोलेनाथ को अपने प्राणों से प्रिय अर्धांगिनी माता सती का वियोग , वह सभी क्षण इस मंदिर में थम सा गया है दोस्तों।
दोस्तों क्रोधित अर्थात कुपित शिव को ही कोपेश्वर कहा गया है ।दोस्तों इसी कारण से इस प्राचीन मंदिर में दो लिंग मौजूद हैं एक भगवान शिव का प्रतिनिधित्व करता हुआ तथा दूसरा लिंग भगवान विष्णु का भोलेनाथ के क्रोध को शांत करते हुए प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहा है।
दोस्तों आप सभी को पता है कि बाबा नंदी बैल प्रत्येक शिव मंदिर के अभिन्न अंग होते हैं परंतु आश्चर्यजनक रूप से इस मंदिर में बाबा नंदी मौजूद नहीं है दोस्तों पुराणों के अनुसार नंदी बाबा माता सती के साथ उनके पिता महाराज प्रजापति दक्ष के घर गए हुए थे इसलिए नंदी बाबा इस मंदिर में अनुपस्थित हैं।
दोस्तों इस प्राचीन मंदिर की अद्भुत निर्माण शैली एवं वास्तुकला को देखकर ऐसा लगता है कि यह मंदिर किसी समय काल में महाराष्ट्र का सर्वाधिक संपन्न मंदिर रहा होगा।
दोस्तों कुछ ऐतिहासिक शिल्पशास्त्र के पुस्तकों में इस प्राचीन मंदिर की वैभव कालीन इतिहास दर्ज है ।जिसका अध्ययन करने से पता चलता है कि यह मंदिर कितना पवित्र और वैभवशाली रहा होगा।
दोस्तों अद्भुत रूप से मंदिर की दीवारों पर काले बेसाल्ट पत्थरों से नक्काशी की गई है। दोस्तों दीवारों पर नक्काशी की गई मूर्तियों का आकार 1 इंच स लेकर 8 फीट तक है।साथी दोस्तों मंदिर के दीवारों पर भगवान शिव की पूजा करते हुए 18 की संख्या में सुंदर कन्याओं की मूर्तियां भी बनाई गई है ।दोस्तों माना जाता है कि इन 18 कन्याओं की मूर्तियों का निर्माण भगवान शिव के क्रोध को शांत करने के लिए किया गया था।
दोस्तों जैसे ही आप इस मंदिर के अंदर प्रवेश करोगे आप का मन एकदम शांत हो जाएगा। और आपको ऐसा महसूस होगा कि जैसे भगवान शिव गहरी समाधि में लीन हो ।दोस्तों यहां का वातावरण आपके मन को एकदम शांत कर देगा। दोस्तों ऐस लगता है कि इस मंदिर में समय आकर एकदम ठहर सा जाता है।
दोस्तों प्राचीन कोपेश्वर मंदिर को चार भागों में विभाजित किया जाता है। प्रथम- स्वर्ग मंडप , द्वितीय- सभा मंडप , तृतीय अंर्तकलक्ष और चतुर्थ- गर्भ गृह।दोस्तों मंदिर की यह सभी क्षेत्र आपस में परस्पर जुड़े हुए हैं ।जिस कारण से दोस्तों आप स्वर्ग मंडप के केंद्र में खड़े होकर सामने स्थित गर्भ गृह में कोपेश्वर महादेव शिवलिंग को आराम देख सकते हो। दोस्तों मंदिर की बाईं ओर की दीवार पर भगवान ब्रह्मा और दाएं ओर की दीवार पर भगवान विष्णु की नक्काशी दार मूर्ति बनाई गई है।दोस्तों माना जाता है कि भगवान ब्रह्मा , भगवान विष्णु और भगवान शिव की दिव्य त्रिमूर्ति प्रतीकात्मक रूप से मंदिर की रक्षा करती है।
दोस्तों मंदिर के गर्भ गृह में शिवलिंग और विष्णु लिंग दोनों स्थापित है दोस्तों मान्यता है कि मंदिर में प्रवेश करने पर सर्वप्रथम विष्णु लिंग का दर्शन किया जाता है तत्पश्चात शिवलिंग का दर्शन किया जाता है।साथ ही दोनों लिंगों पर जल और दूध से अभिषेक करने की परंपरा लागू है।माना जाता है कि दोस्तों इन दोनों लिंगों का दर्शन करने से भक्तों गणों की संपूर्ण मनोकामना पूर्ण होती है।
दोस्तों मंदिर में बनाई गई मूर्तियां अपने निर्माण काल के समय के दौरान एक उन्नत और अच्छी तरह से विकसित संस्कृति की उपस्थिति को इंगित करती है।दोस्तों इन मूर्तियों के चेहरे पर अलग-अलग भाव देखे जा सकते हैं साथ ही मंदिर में दोस्तों विभिन्न प्रकार के जानवरों के साथ फलों को भी नक्काशी किया गया है। जो अद्भुत रूप से कच्चे फल और पके हुए फलो को स्पष्ट रूप से दर्शाया गया है। साथ ही मंदिर के मध्य भाग में भी विभिन्न देवी-देवताओं की मूर्तियों को भी नक्काशी किया गया है।
दोस्तों मध्यकाल में क्रूर आक्रमणकारी बर्बर औरंगजेब के शासनकाल में भी मंदिर को काफी क्षति पहुंचाई गई थी।फिर भी दोस्तों इस प्राचीन मंदिर की शिल्प कला इतनी सुंदर है कि आप इस मंदिर से अपनी दृष्टि नहीं हटा पाएंगे।
