अद्भुत और अलौकिक रहे होंगे दोस्तों इस मंदिर के निर्माणकर्ता जिन्होंने केवल पत्थरों पर पत्थर रखकर इस मंदिर का निर्माण कर दिया था।
नमस्कार दोस्तों मैं माउंटेन लैपर्ड महेंद्रा आप सभी लोगों का हार्दिक अभिनंदन करता हूं दोस्तों आज की यात्रा पर हम चल रहे हैं बृहदेश्वर मंदिर तंजावुर तमिलनाडु की जहां हम देखेंगे कि कैसे एक अलौकिक मंदिर सिर्फ पत्थरों के ऊपर पत्थर रखकर बनाया गया है इस अद्भुत और अलौकिक मंदिर जो हमारे पूर्वजों के अनमोल धरोहर है।
दोस्तो आप विश्वास नहीं करोगे कि हमारे देश भारत में एक ऐसा मंदिर है यानी मौजूद है जो केवल पत्थरों के ऊपर पत्थर रखकर बनाया गया है जो अद्भुत रूप से 216 फीट ऊंचा है दोस्तों यह मंदिर हजारों वर्षों से अपने अलौकिक इतिहास को अपने में समेटे हुए बिना झुके खड़ा है।

दोस्तों अद्भुत अलौकिक बृहदेश्वर मंदिर तमिलनाडु के छोटे से शहर तंजावुर में स्थित है जो भगवान शिव को समर्पित है इस मंदिर का निर्माण महान सम्राट चोल ने 1010 ईस्वी में करवाया था जो भगवान शिव का अनन्य भक्त था।।
दोस्तों यह मंदिर मुख्य रूप से भगवान शिव को समर्पित है। दोस्तों मंदिर चारों ओर से ऊंची दीवारों से घिरा हुआ है जिसका निर्माण 16वीं शताब्दी में किया गया था। दोस्तों मंदिर का मुख्य दरवाजा लगभग 30 मीटर ऊंचा है । दोस्तों इसके अतिरिक्त मंदिर परिसर में नंदी मंडप , प्रार्थना मंडप एवं अन्य देवी देवताओं के भी मंदिर बने हुए हैं। जो कि अन्य कालखंड में इस क्षेत्र के अन्य राजाओं ने बनवाए थे ।
दोस्तों यह जानकर आपको आश्चर्य होगा कि यह विश्व की एकमात्र मंदिर है जो पूरी तरह से ग्रेनाइट पत्थरों से बनी हुई है। दोस्तों उस कालखंड में इस मंदिर को बनाने में 1 . 3 टन पत्थरों का उपयोग किया गया था। दोस्तों सबसे बड़े आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि इस मंदिर के 60 से 70 किलोमीटर के दायरे में कोई पहाड़ स्थित नहीं है दोस्तों ऐतिहासिक स्रोत बताते हैं कि ग्रेनाइट पत्रों को यहां तक लाने के लिए 3000 से लेकर 4000 हाथियों का प्रयोग किया गया था।

दोस्तों माना जाता है कि जिस कालखंड में यह मंदिर बनकर तैयार हुआ था उस समय यह विश्व की सबसे ऊंचा मंदिर था।जो सारे संसार में हमारी स्थापत्य कला का लोहा मनवाने में सक्षम था ।दोस्तों आश्चर्य की बात है कि इस मंदिर के निर्माण में केवल 7 वर्ष लगे थे । जो कि एक ऐतिहासिक प्रमाण है।
दोस्तों एक और आश्चर्य करने वाली बात है । दोस्तों मंदिर के शिखर जिसे हम विमान भी कहते हैं कि ऊपर स्थापित पत्थर का बना कुंभ का वजन लगभग 81 टन है जो कि एक ही पत्थर को काटकर बनाया गया था। दोस्तों यही आश्चर्य करने वाली बात है कि इस पत्थर को 200 फीट की ऊंचाई पर कैसे स्थापित किया गया होगा। उस कालखंड में , जबकि आज के आधुनिक समय में भी असंभव है या मुश्किल भरा काम है। लेकिन हमारे पूर्वजों ने आज से हजारों वर्ष पूर्व इस कार्य को संभव बना दिया था।
दोस्तों ऐतिहासिक स्रोत बताते हैं कि इस भारी पत्थर को मंदिर के ऊपर लगाने के लिए एक 6 किलोमीटर लंबी और ऊंचा एक रैंप तैयार किया गया था। जिस पर हाथियों की सहायता से इस पत्थर को खींचकर ऊपर तक पहुंचाया गया था।दोस्तों आप सभी इस मंदिर की निर्माण की भव्यता का अंदाज केवल इस एक घटना से ही लगा सकते हैं कि हमारे पूर्वजों ने इस मंदिर के निर्माण में किस प्रकार की वास्तुकला का उपयोग किया होगा।

दोस्तों इसी प्रकार इस मंदिर में मौजूद नंदी मंडप में स्थित नंदी बाबा की प्रतिमा की ऊंचाई 13 फीट लंबाई 16 फीट है जो कि एक ही ग्रेनाइट पत्थर को काटकर बनाया गया है। एवं गर्भ गृह में मौजूद शिवलिंग देश के सबसे बड़े शिवलिंगों में से एक है जो कि 29 फीट ऊंचा है। दोस्तों इस मंदिर के निर्माण में पत्थरों को आपस में जोड़ने वाले विधि का उपयोग किया गया है जो कि उस कालखंड के उच्च तकनीक को दर्शाता है।
